Situated between Woodcat Coffee and Andante, the San Francisco specialty coffee brand recently opened another location right in the heart of Echo Park on Sunset. Designed by Wade Design Architects, the space features communal seating and two-tops, a new 360 degree barista island, and a retail wall. Former Top Chef contestant Shawn Pham returns home to Los Angeles with the opening of Simbal, a new Southeast Asian restaurant in the heart of Little Tokyo. On the menu, Chef Pham offers chili jam mussels with tamarind and fried Chinese donut, to a redolent banh mi panzanella salad.
