Artist and Designer Roy McMakin, founder of Domestic Architecture, a Seattle based design firm, has designed and renovated several homes throughout Los Angeles. His architectural style is so simple and so refined and often serves as a backdrop for his furniture designs. An Artist by nature, McMakin is best "known for his embrace of ambiguity and subversive humor in the design of seemingly mundane objects." Whether it's a chest of drawers that has no functioning drawers, or a traditional wing chair that has been transformed into a swivel chair. McMakin is a master at elevating ordinary objects and spaces by making small adjustments and infusing his work with a sense of play.
