Oscar Neimeyer 1907-2012

Modern Architecture lost one of it's masters yesterday with the passing of Brazilian architect Oscar Neimeyer, who died yesterday at the age of 104.  Neimeyer, who worked with Le Corbusier in his earlier years, was among the last of the Modernist architects that defined post-war architecture in the '40s, '50s and '60s. He was best known for the designing the government building of the new capital, Brasilia. His work was curvaceous, lyrical and bold.  "Brazil lost one it's geniuses," said Brazil's president. "Few dreamed so intensely, and accomplished so much, as he did."  

R.I.P Mr. Neimeyer.
