Redbird :: Chef Neal Fraser's Downtown Spot Inside the Vibiana Church

Redbird :: Photography by Elizabeth Daniels
Finding a home inside the deconsecrated 1933-built rectory, Redbird has become a downtown hot spot since its soft opening in December. Re-imagined by wife Amy Knoll Fraser and designer Robert Weimer, the space is filled with mid-century style furniture, tiles, woodwork, and shapes meant to reflect the late 1800's cathedral. The lounge area features a 360-degree bar, stunning ceiling painted by Guerin Swing, as well as elegant paintings from local artist Nancy Baker Cahil. Chef Fraser's menu introduces New American dishes using everything from Santa Barbara prawns with uni and wasabi snow to Rabbitchetta placed over Anson Mills polenta and pea tendrils. Here's a peek inside.
