Meet the Architect of the Butterfly House, John Southern of Urban Operations

Architect John Southern will be on hand during a public open house at the Butterfly House to discuss his design philosophy and answer questions.

John Southern is the founding principal of Urban Operations. He holds a Bachelors of Architectural Design from the University of Florida, and a Masters of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles. John teaches at Woodbury University’s School of Architecture and participates in community outreach and education through his involvement in the Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design. He has lectured widely and participated in panel discussions thematically related to design culture in both the U.S. and Europe. As a journalist John has written pieces for DOMUS, Loudpaper, MONU, Junkjet, and Form Magazine- publications specializing in the field of urban culture and design.
